HoodShare

Deleting your account

Last updated 14 September 2026

You can delete your HoodShare account and everything attached to it from inside the app, at any time, without asking anybody. This page explains how, and exactly what goes — Google Play requires it to exist somewhere you can read without signing in, which is why it is here as well as in the app.

Deleting it from the app

  1. Open HoodShare and go to the Household tab.
  2. Tap the account icon in the top right.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read what it tells you about your household, and confirm. The wording differs depending on whether anybody else lives there — see below.

It takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period, no cooling-off, and nothing to cancel.

If you cannot reach the app

Email hoodshare@codecrox.com from the address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm it is yours before doing anything, and delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

WhatWhen
Your name, email address and profile picture Immediately
Every item you listed, with its photographs Immediately
Your borrow requests, and your answers to other people's Immediately
Your membership of every neighbourhood, and any requests to join Immediately
Your notification history and any push registrations Immediately
Your household, including its address and coordinates — but only if you are the last member Immediately
Your sign-in identity, held by Google Firebase Authentication Immediately after the above

What stays, and why

Your household, if somebody else still lives there. A household is shared: its address, its items and its neighbourhood memberships belong to the people in it, not to whoever happened to set it up. Deleting your account removes you from it and takes your own things with you, and leaves the household itself for the people still using it. If you are the only member, it goes with you.

Nothing else. HoodShare keeps no backups of deleted accounts, no anonymised copy, and no analytics record — there is no analytics in the app at all. Server logs may briefly hold an IP address for operational reasons; they are not linked to your account and age out on their own.

What this does not do

It does not delete your Google or Apple account, only HoodShare's use of it. If you signed in with Apple and used Hide My Email, you can stop the relay separately in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple on your device.
